Patna: Anukul Roy, an all-rounder cricketer and protocol officer of the Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL), was felicitated on Monday after being named Player of the Tournament in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025–26. The ceremony was held at Vidyut Bhawan, where Bihar’s chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit honoured Roy with a shawl and memento — praising his achievement as a rare confluence of sporting excellence and public service.

Roy delivered a standout all-round performance during the tournament — scoring 303 runs and taking 18 wickets — finishing among the most impactful players of the season.
Addressing the gathering, Amrit said Roy’s success had brought pride not only to Bihar but also to the state’s power sector — describing it as an inspiration for young professionals balancing careers in public service with excellence in sports.

A short video showcasing Roy’s performances throughout the tournament was screened during the event, drawing applause from officials and employees present at the ceremony.
Roy currently serves as protocol officer at BSPHCL, and his achievement has been hailed by the department as a testament to discipline, dedication and the pursuit of excellence beyond the workplace.
