Patna: Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw visited the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) incubation facility in Patna on Friday, where he interacted with startups, innovators and young entrepreneurs and underscored the Centre’s focus on technology-led growth in Bihar.
Accompanied by Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, the minister reviewed the work of incubated startups and discussed opportunities for expanding the state’s innovation ecosystem.
Startups Showcase Emerging Technologies
During the visit, Vaishnaw observed live demonstrations of products and solutions developed by startups operating from the STPI incubation centre.
The showcased innovations spanned a range of emerging technology sectors, reflecting the growing presence of technology-driven entrepreneurship in Bihar.
The minister praised the efforts of young founders and innovators, noting the role startups can play in creating jobs, solving local challenges and contributing to economic growth.
Focus On Building A Strong Innovation Ecosystem
Addressing entrepreneurs and technology professionals, Vaishnaw emphasised the importance of strengthening India’s startup ecosystem and creating an environment where innovative ideas can be transformed into scalable businesses.
He said government initiatives aimed at supporting entrepreneurship, incubation and technology development were designed to help Indian startups compete globally while addressing domestic needs.
The interaction also focused on the opportunities available to young professionals in emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, electronics, digital services and advanced manufacturing.

Semiconductor Sector Highlighted As Key Opportunity
A major focus of the visit was the rapidly expanding global semiconductor industry.
Vaishnaw said India has a significant opportunity to strengthen its position in semiconductor design and electronics manufacturing, and assured support for the development of world-class semiconductor design facilities in Bihar’s leading engineering institutions.
The minister noted that investments in semiconductor design capabilities could help create high-skilled employment opportunities while integrating Bihar more closely into India’s growing technology and electronics ecosystem.
The visit forms part of broader efforts by the Centre and the state government to promote innovation, attract technology investment and position Bihar as an emerging destination for startups and knowledge-based industries.
