Patna/Aurangabad: Two men have died in a road accident in Bihar’s Aurangabad district after a pickup vehicle crashed into a truck parked on the roadside, police said on Saturday.
The incident occurred near Jogia Mod on the Grand Trunk Road in the Barun police station area. According to police officials, the pickup vehicle was travelling at high speed when it rammed into the rear of a stationary trailer truck. Both occupants of the pickup died at the scene as a result of the impact.
Police officers reached the site shortly after receiving information about the crash and recorded statements from local residents. The victims were later identified as Mohammad Imtiyaz Rayeen, 32, and Mohammad Isteyak Rayeen, 30, residents of Lashkariganj village in the Sasaram town police station area of neighbouring Rohtas district.
The bodies were sent to Aurangabad Sadar Hospital for postmortem examination after legal formalities were completed.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the collision, including whether poor visibility, speed or inadequate warning signs contributed.
