Ara/Patna : The Ara Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court has issued non-bailable warrants against 11 people in the Bharat Tiwari encounter case, directing police to arrest them and produce them before the court by August 12.
The individuals named in the court order include the then Jagdishpur SDM Sanjit Kumar, then SDPO Rajesh Kumar Sharma and former Shahpur police station SHO Rajesh Malakar. Several police and STF personnel have also been named in connection with the case.
Who Has Been Named In The Case?
According to the details of the case, the warrant has been issued against 11 people whose names emerged in the FIR and investigation.
Those named include Sanjit Kumar, Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Rajesh Malakar, Ankit Aryan, Harishchandra Kumar, Akshay Kumar and Vikas Kumar, among others.
STF personnel Akshay Kumar has reportedly already been arrested, while Rajesh Malakar was suspended following the incident.
The allegations against the individuals remain subject to the ongoing investigation and judicial proceedings.
Court Orders Arrest And Production By August 12
The Ara CJM Court has directed the police to execute the non-bailable warrants and produce the accused before the court by August 12.
The order follows a petition seeking action against those named in the FIR and information regarding the progress of the investigation.
The issuance of a non-bailable warrant is a judicial direction for arrest and does not by itself establish the guilt of the people named in the case.
Petition Filed Seeking Court Intervention
According to advocate Sanjeev Kumar, a petition was filed before the Ara court seeking non-bailable warrants against the individuals named in the case.
The petition also sought information about the action taken so far, the investigation report and the status of those named in the FIR.
Names including Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Rajesh Malakar, Akshay Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Ravinder, Ankit Aryan, Ramchander and Harishchander have reportedly surfaced in the case.
Action Against Officials Following The Incident
The then SDPO Rajesh Kumar Sharma was subsequently posted as a DSP in the Prohibition Department in Patna. Following a meeting between Bharat Tiwari’s family and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, Sharma was reportedly removed from field duty.
The then Jagdishpur SDM Sanjit Kumar was also removed from his post and attached to the Patna headquarters.
Family Had Questioned Police Action
Following Bharat Tiwari’s death, his family and supporters raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the police action.
The case has since proceeded through investigation and judicial proceedings. The latest court order directing arrests marks another development in the matter.
