Patna: Bhojpuri cinema’s first reality show, Bhojpuri Bawaal, is set to premiere on August 2 on JioHotstar. The series will feature leading actors from the Bhojpuri film industry alongside political personalities from Bihar, offering viewers an insight into their personal and professional lives.
The show’s line-up includes Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh, actor Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, actors Amrapali Dubey and Kajal Raghwani, and Tej Pratap Yadav, the elder son of former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav. Social media personality Manisha Rani and comedian Krushna Abhishek will host the programme.
Focus On Personal Stories
According to the makers, Bhojpuri Bawaal will explore the lives of its participants beyond their public image. The show aims to present conversations about fame, family, friendships, rivalries, ambitions and the challenges associated with public life.
The series is positioned as an unscripted format that seeks to present participants’ experiences without filters.
Pawan Singh On Public Perception
Speaking about the show, Pawan Singh said people have heard many stories about him and other Bhojpuri stars over the years.
“People have heard various stories about us over the years. Some are true, some are exaggerated, and many are completely fabricated. This show will give the audience a chance to discover who we really are behind the headlines.”
Nirahua Highlights Authenticity
Dinesh Lal Yadav (Nirahua) said the participants are not attempting to present a perfect image of themselves.
“We laugh and joke together, argue, pull each other’s legs, and speak our minds openly. That is what makes this show authentic. And yes… the audience will find the answer to what I said at the end starting August 2.”
He added that stories from India’s heartland deserve a wider platform and said the programme would allow audiences to see well-known Bhojpuri personalities in candid conversations that have not been seen before.

Bhojpuri Bawaal will begin streaming on JioHotstar from August 2. The show marks the launch of what is being presented as the first reality series centred on the Bhojpuri entertainment industry, bringing together film personalities and a political figure from Bihar in a single format.
