Patna: Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh, widely known as the “Power Star,” has opened up about his personal life during his stint on a popular reality television show. Clips from the show have been widely shared on social media, showing Singh speaking candidly about his marriages and relationships.
In an emotional moment, Singh remembered his first wife, Neelam Singh, who died by suicide in 2015. “She was a goddess, whom I lost,” he said, recalling the grief of losing her just three months after their marriage.
Singh also addressed the breakup of his subsequent relationship with fellow Bhojpuri actor Akshara Singh, without naming her directly. “After a few years, there was some more problem in life. While working continuously, I got close to someone,” he said. “If you work continuously with someone in your line of work, you get close to them, but my family was not ready. I did not want to go against them.”
Speaking about his second marriage to Jyoti Singh, which took place in 2018, Pawan Singh said that the union had faced legal challenges. “The family settled me somewhere else. When that life was settled, there was a setback in that too. That case is ongoing for divorce,” he said. Singh added that he had decided in childhood to follow his family’s wishes in matters of marriage, saying, “I cannot decide this myself. I cannot do a love marriage.”
The Bhojpuri star’s personal life has remained in the public eye for years. Following Neelam Singh’s death, Singh and Akshara Singh became close while working in the Bhojpuri industry, though their relationship eventually ended. He later married Jyoti Singh, who had approached the courts with serious allegations against him. A divorce petition was also filed, but counselling revealed that the couple had agreed to continue living together.
