Patna: Bhojpuri actor and singer Pawan Singh has announced his departure from Ashneer Grover’s reality show Rise and Fall after two weeks on the series, leaving both co-stars and fans visibly emotional.
In a recently released promo, Singh delivered his final words on the Rise and Fall stage, expressing his good wishes to fellow contestants. “I am leaving this show to fulfil some service commitments. But I will always be with all of you. Play this game with a pure heart, play it with a smile, and make others smile too,” he said.
The actor’s exit prompted an emotional reaction from contestants Dhanashree Verma and Akriti Negi, who were seen in tears as Singh embraced them. Attempting to lighten the mood, Singh added, “I am not leaving forever. Whenever I am fondly remembered, whether from a penthouse or a basement, I will try to take two days off from my work and come and meet all of you.”
Singh’s departure is reportedly linked to family commitments and a service activity that requires his presence. His mother reportedly came to pick him up over the weekend.
Fans have reacted with disappointment to the news, expressing their sadness on social media. One viewer wrote, “The last episode will air tomorrow, and then I’ll delete the MX Player app.” Another commented, “Now, who will we root for in Rise and Fall? I had started relating to this reality show for the first time. It’s really upsetting. Whatever the case, this decision will be bad for the show.”
Rise and Fall, which streams on Prime Video and MX Player, features contestants including Kiku Sharda, Arjun Bijlani, Ahana Kumra, Kubra Sait, Dhanashree Verma, and Anaya Bangar, alongside Singh.
