Patna: A batch of 652 female commandos of the Bihar Special Armed Police completed nearly 270 days of intensive training at the Mokamaghat Group Centre and formally joined active service on Monday during an induction parade and oath-taking ceremony.
The commandos pledged to uphold national security and respond to terror-related threats and law and order challenges across the state. The ceremony included combat demonstrations and tactical exercises showcasing the women personnel’s operational preparedness.
Senior Officials Attend Ceremony
The event was attended by senior police and paramilitary officials, including Nirmal Kumar Azad, Rajkumar, Ravindra Bhagat and Kundan Kumar.
Several IPS officers, Bihar Police personnel, CRPF officials, family members of the trainees and local residents were also present at the programme.
Demonstration of Combat Skills
During the induction parade, the commandos carried out coordinated drills and anti-terror response demonstrations. Officials said the exercises reflected the physical endurance and tactical skills developed during the training programme.
Despite high temperatures, the women commandos marched in formation and presented a ceremonial salute before the dignitaries. Senior officers later inspected the parade.
Officials Highlight Security Role
Addressing the gathering, DGP Nirmal Kumar Azad said the trained personnel would contribute significantly to maintaining peace, public security and law and order in Bihar. He described the induction as an important moment for the state police force.
CRPF Inspector General Rajkumar said the women commandos were prepared to take on responsibilities in different operational environments following the completion of their training.
Emotional Reunion With Families
The ceremony concluded with the commandos meeting their families, many of whom had travelled to Mokama to attend the event. Several parents were visibly emotional during the reunion.
In a symbolic gesture, some of the commandos placed their ceremonial turbans on their fathers’ heads, drawing applause from those present.
The top six trainees — Juhi, Nisha, Sweety, Anjana, Sakshi and Deepa Raj — were honoured during the programme for their performance during the training period.
