Bihar Allocates Rs 25 Crore for Chhath Preparations, Ensures Facilities for Devotees

Chhath Puja Preparations in Patna: Devotees to Offer Prayers in 28 City Parks and Ghats

Patna: Bihar’s Urban Development and Housing Minister Nitin Nabeen announced a Rs 25 crore allocation from the department for Chhath Puja preparations to ensure convenience for devotees. This funding will cover essential arrangements across all ghats, including barricading, toilets, changing rooms, street lights, and watch towers.

For the Chhath Puja, Patna Municipal Corporation received Rs 12 crore, while 18 other municipal corporations were granted Rs 1.8 crore collectively. Additional funds were distributed to municipal councils and Nagar Panchayats, with each council receiving Rs 4 lakh and each Nagar Panchayat receiving Rs 3 lakh. Dev Nagar Panchayat in Aurangabad received Rs 10 lakh to support the festival preparations.

In addition, Patna’s DM received Rs 3 crore specifically for public safety and law and order. Following Diwali, special instructions have been issued to set up facilities for idol immersion, preventing river and pond pollution from worship materials and household items.

Secretary of the Department, Abhay Singh, emphasized that all municipal bodies must ensure proper cleaning of water bodies and arrange for temporary alternative ghats. Officers were instructed to focus on security and convenience, making Chhath a safe and successful celebration, especially in Ganga Town areas where special attention is required.
