Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to begin his campaign on October 24. His first stop is highly symbolic, with a visit to Karpoori Gram in Samastipur to pay tribute to Bharat Ratna Jananayak Karpoori Thakur. This move is seen as a strategic appeal to the Extremely Backward Classes (EBCs), a critical voting bloc in the state.
Following the tribute, PM Modi will address major public meetings in Samastipur and Begusarai on the same day.
The Prime Minister’s campaign schedule is set to escalate over the subsequent weeks, with further rallies planned in North and Central Bihar:
- October 30: Public meetings in Muzaffarpur and Chapra.
- November 2, 3, 6, and 7: A series of major election rallies across various districts of Bihar, strategically timed to coincide with the approach of the two voting phases.
Shah and Nadda Join the Frontline
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive a day earlier, starting his election campaign in Bihar on October 23. Known for his detailed strategic planning, Shah will target multiple regions in rapid succession:
- October 24: Rallies scheduled for Siwan and Buxar.
- October 25: He will hold public meetings in Nalanda, Munger, and Khagaria, covering segments that are vital to securing a legislative majority.
Adding to the NDA’s concentrated effort, BJP National President JP Nadda is also scheduled to visit the state on Thursday to galvanize local party workers and candidates.
Polling and Results Schedule
The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases this year:
- Phase 1 Voting: November 6
- Phase 2 Voting: November 11
The counting of votes will take place three days after the final phase, on November 14. The results on that day will determine the formation of the next government in the state.
