Patna: Biro Power Private Limited, an agritech and deep-tech startup supported under the Bihar government’s startup initiative, has been selected as one of five startups from across the country to participate in the President’s Independence Day “At Home” reception on August 15 at the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre in New Delhi.
The company will be represented by its co-founder, Maya Ramsamujh Verma, at the event. The selection recognises the startup’s work in agricultural innovation and its contribution to developing technology-driven solutions for farmers.
Invitation Delivered At Patna Residence
The official invitation from the President’s Secretariat was delivered to Verma’s residence in Patna through the Department of Posts on Thursday.
Vimal Deep Kumar, Postal Inspector of the Kankarbagh sub-division, handed over the invitation and congratulated the company on behalf of the postal department.
Focus On Agricultural Innovation
Biro Power is developing agricultural technologies in collaboration with SABAGRIs and Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour. The company manufactures its products at its facility in Sikandarpur, Bihta, in Patna district.
According to the company, its technologies are designed to support farmers through innovation and modern agricultural solutions.
Previous National Recognition
Biro Power has previously been recognised among the Top 100 Innovative Startups by IIT Ropar’s AWaDH programme. It was also named among the Top 50 Startups in the Tata Social Enterprise Challenge.
The company’s founder and chief executive, Rajnish Kumar, is an alumnus of IIM Kashipur with 14 years of industry experience. Since 2021, he has been based in Bihar, focusing on developing innovation-led technologies for the agricultural sector.
