Patna: Bhojpuri actor and singer Khesari Lal Yadav has appealed to young people, particularly Gen Z, to unite and raise their voice for improving the healthcare system. In a social media post, he said the country now needs a broad public movement focused on healthcare, similar to recent youth-led campaigns on education.
The appeal comes after Khesari publicly expressed support for political strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishore during the Bankipur Assembly by-election.
Calls For Youth-Led Healthcare Movement
In his post, Khesari said the impact of youth activism on education had demonstrated the power of collective action. He urged the younger generation to channel similar efforts towards strengthening healthcare services.

According to him, improving the healthcare system should become the next major public issue, with organised participation from citizens across the country.
Raises Concerns Over Treatment Costs
Khesari questioned the affordability of medical treatment, particularly in private hospitals. He wrote that people without health insurance often find it difficult to access treatment in private healthcare facilities.
He also referred to the condition of government hospitals in smaller towns, stating that their shortcomings are widely known.
Criticism Of Healthcare Ecosystem
The actor alleged that private hospitals, health insurance companies and pharmaceutical firms operate within a system that leaves ordinary patients and their families struggling with rising medical expenses.
He said a serious illness affecting one family member often results in financial hardship, emotional stress and long-term debt for the entire household.
Says Issue Affects Every Household
Khesari acknowledged that some people may not consider the issue urgent until they experience it personally. However, he argued that healthcare-related financial distress has become common across households.
Reiterating his commitment to the issue, Khesari said he had raised concerns about healthcare in the past and would continue to stand with people seeking improvements in the system.
