Vaishali: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) on Sunday declared the results of the 2026 Matriculation Examination, bringing relief and excitement to more than 15 lakh students across the state.
The results were announced by Bihar’s education minister Sunil Kumar at the board office, in the presence of chairman Anand Kishore and additional chief secretary of the education department B Rajendra. With this, Bihar Board has once again become the first in the country to release matric results, marking the eighth consecutive year of early declaration.
Among the top performers, Sabreen Parveen from Vaishali district emerged as a joint state topper, securing 492 marks, or 98.40%. She shares the top position with Pushpanjali Kumari.
A student of Higher Secondary School, Chaurahi, in Chehra Kala block, Sabreen’s achievement has brought pride to her family and village. Soon after the results were announced, her home witnessed a steady stream of visitors, including neighbours, teachers and well-wishers, all arriving to congratulate her.
Speaking about her success, Sabreen highlighted the importance of consistency in studies. She said that self-study, combined with regular coaching classes near her home, played a key role in her preparation. She compared studying regularly to daily habits, saying it should be treated as an essential routine.
Sabreen admitted that while she was confident of scoring well, she had not expected to secure the top rank in the state. “I was sure I would do well, but I did not think I would be among the toppers,” she said, expressing happiness after the results.
She credited her family for their constant support. Her father, Mohammad Shahzad, runs a business in West Bengal, while her mother manages the household. According to Sabreen, the encouragement she received from her family was a major factor behind her achievement.
The atmosphere at her home remains celebratory, with relatives calling and visiting to share their congratulations.
Looking ahead, Sabreen described this achievement as only the beginning. She said she aims to continue her education and pursue bigger goals in the future.
