Bettiah: A passenger bus travelling from Pidari to Bettiah overturned near Tilangahi Bahuarwa village under the Purushottampur police station area of Mainatand block in West Champaran on Tuesday morning.
The incident triggered panic among the passengers, while local residents rushed to the spot and helped them get out of the vehicle. The Purushottampur police also reached the spot and initiated relief and rescue operations.
Two women were injured in the accident. They have been identified as Phulpati Devi, 60, wife of Ramanand Sah and a resident of Sakrauli village under Inarwa police station, and Salma Nisha, 48, wife of Shakirjan Miyan and a resident of Purainiya village.
Both injured women were taken to a hospital for treatment. No other casualties have been reported so far, according to preliminary information.
Police brought the situation under control and are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
