Patna: The second cabinet meeting of the NDA government concluded with the approval of 14 crucial agendas, presided over by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday. Among the significant decisions made, the Bihar government announced plans to construct 2,165 panchayat buildings, with 1,083 earmarked for flood-affected regions and 1,082 for normal areas. The estimated expenditure for this initiative stands at a substantial Rs 6,10,38,707 crore.

In a move aimed at supporting engineering students, the government sanctioned a stipend of ten thousand rupees for students during their internship, specifically targeted at those in the seventh semester of B.Tech. This decision accompanies a new policy introduced by the Bihar government.

Furthermore, the Regional Office of Science, Technology, and Technical Education will waive application fees for Group D applicants, benefiting a staggering 3,46,777 and 77 individuals, as approved by the Cabinet.

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Patna is set to witness infrastructural development with the construction of an incubation center building. This four-story structure will be erected at a total cost of Rs 47.76 crore, slated for completion in the financial year 2024-25.

Under the ambit of the Saat Nishchay part 2, veterinary doctors will conduct health checks on animals at their owners’ residences, with a budget allocation of Rs 64 crore 50 lakh aimed at enhancing animal health management.

Additionally, the Cabinet approved a budget of Rs 140.74 crore for the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance Scheme, spanning from 2023-24 to 2026-27, signaling a concerted effort towards bolstering the micro, small, and medium enterprises sector.

Lastly, the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana received the nod of approval, with a scheme worth Rs 1,04,90,45,000 set to be implemented in collaboration with the central and state governments, underscoring commitments to the fisheries sector.

The decisions taken in this cabinet meeting signify a proactive approach by the Bihar government towards addressing various socio-economic challenges and fostering development across multiple sectors.
