Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday inspected the site of the proposed international airport in Bihta, reviewing ongoing construction and discussing the project’s progress with officials. The airport, expected to be equipped with modern facilities, will feature ten aero stations aimed at improving air traffic management in the region.
CM Nitish also visited the under-construction Khagaul-Bihta elevated road, which is being developed to provide a direct link between Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna and Bihta Airport. He emphasized the need to accelerate work on both projects, underscoring their importance for regional connectivity.
“We want Bihta Airport to be operational at the earliest to enhance air travel convenience for the people of Bihar,” the chief minister said. “International flights will operate from both Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport and Bihta Airport, reducing congestion and offering greater travel flexibility.”
Senior officials accompanying Kumar during the inspection included Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena, Principal Secretary Dr. S. Siddharth, and Secretary to the Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, among others. Representatives from the Bihta Air Force Station and the Airport Authority of India were also present.
