Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday conducted a surprise inspection at Gandhi Maidan, reviewing every key arrangement for the state government’s upcoming swearing-in ceremony, scheduled for 20 November. The unexpected visit created a stir among officials, many of whom were immediately called to present real-time updates on security, logistics and protocol.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister examined the seating layout for dignitaries, VIP movement plans, temporary facilities and crowd-management strategies. He also sought detailed feedback on the availability of essential services being readied for the event.

Officials briefed the CM on the arrangements made for special guests, invited leaders, senior bureaucrats and large contingents expected to attend the ceremony. They also updated him on security layers, police deployment, and the setup for public entry and emergency response units.
Senior ministers including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Minister Kumari Nandini, and Minister Satish Rajak were present. Top bureaucrats such as Chief Secretary Nivedita Singh, Principal Secretaries Prabhat Verma, Rajendra Prasad, and Chanzeet Kishor, DGP Sanjeev Kumar, ADG (Law & Order), District Magistrate R.K. S.M., and Commissioner Vivek Ijlar also accompanied the CM.

Police officials—including IG Patna Range, Senior SP Patna, and other district-level officers—reviewed site-specific plans with the Chief Minister, assuring him that all security layers would be operational well before the ceremony begins.
