Patna: The Bihar Congress has alleged that state Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha is registered as a voter in two separate assembly constituencies, intensifying a political storm over electoral integrity.
The party claimed on Sunday that Sinha’s name appears in the voter list at two different locations, calling the matter “a serious question on the Election Commission and the democratic system”. In a post on its official X account, Congress demanded an immediate probe, warning that the issue poses “a threat to the credibility of the electoral process”.

The allegations come just days after opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav faced similar accusations from the ruling NDA, prompting the Election Commission to issue him a notice demanding clarification by August 16. The claims against Sinha have triggered a new wave of debate across political circles and social media, adding to ongoing disputes over discrepancies and name deletions in Bihar’s voter rolls.
The Election Commission has yet to comment on the fresh allegations. Meanwhile, both ruling and opposition leaders have seized on the controversy, which risks escalating into a broader confrontation over the integrity of the state’s electoral machinery.
