Patna: With the fate of 2,616 candidates sealed inside Electronic Voting Machines, Bihar now waits for November 14, when counting will decide who governs the state. But even before the first vote is tallied, astrologers are poring over planetary charts to forecast who the stars favour — Chief Minister Nitish Kumar or his challenger Tejashwi Prasad Yadav.
Astrologer Suresh Mishra believes Nitish’s horoscope signals continuity. Born under Scorpio with a Leo ascendant, Nitish is currently in Rahu Mahadasha and Mars Antardasha, a combination said to strengthen courage and authority. On the day of counting, benefic Jupiter will transit through his house of fortune, “ensuring prestige and position remain intact,” Mishra said. With Mars aspecting the house of destiny, he adds, “Nitish’s chart indicates power, aided by Jupiter’s exalted position.”
Tejashwi’s stars tell a different story. His Aquarius sun sign and Capricorn ascendant place him under Mercury Mahadasha and Rahu Antardasha — a period known for political turbulence. He is also passing through the third phase of Saturn’s Sade Sati, a cycle astrologers consider karmic and transformative. While strong Mars and Venus suggest charisma and determination, weak Sun, Rahu and Jupiter may hinder his path to power.
Still, Mishra doesn’t rule Tejashwi out. “If Saturn favours him, the end of Sade Sati could bring unexpected success,” he said, hinting at a late twist in Bihar’s political script.
As EVMs rest and anticipation builds, Bihar’s destiny, at least according to the stars, seems to tilt toward stability — but with cosmic room for surprise.
