District police departments emphasised that taking photographs of EVMs inside polling stations violates the Model Code of Conduct and other legal provisions. Investigations are ongoing into how the individuals managed to carry mobile phones into the voting booths.
Officials have urged voters to refrain from using mobile phones inside polling stations and to maintain the secrecy of the ballot. The superintendent of police warned that such acts undermine the integrity of the election process and that strict action will be taken against anyone found breaching the rules in the future.
