Sitamarhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a blistering attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Sitamarhi on Saturday, warning that the upcoming Bihar assembly election will determine the state’s future. Speaking to a crowd of supporters, he accused the RJD of promoting violence over education, saying: “Children need to be made doctors and engineers, not gangsters. RJD is giving them double-barreled guns.”

PM Modi portrayed the election as a choice between development and lawlessness. “Should the children of Bihar become gangsters or doctors and engineers? Bihar needs people with startup dreams, not those who say ‘Hands Up,’” he said. He contrasted the central government’s initiatives, including distributing laptops to students, with what he described as the RJD’s culture of guns and cruelty.

The Prime Minister also criticised the governance record of the RJD and Congress, arguing that years of their rule had left Bihar mired in corruption, misrule, and social disharmony. “Where guns and cruelty reign, the law fails. Where there is misrule by RJD and Congress, there is no trace of development,” he said.

In a veiled dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, PM Modi referenced a recent event in Begusarai where Gandhi reportedly took a dip in a pond. “Even big people are coming to see Bihar’s fish. They are trying to drown themselves in the Bihar elections,” PM Modi quipped, drawing laughter from the crowd.

PM celebrated the strong turnout in the first phase of voting, describing it as a “shock of 65 volts” to the so-called Jungle Raj. He praised the youth and women of Bihar for choosing development and reiterated his call for another term of the NDA government.

The Prime Minister also recalled the Ayodhya Supreme Court verdict, saying he had prayed to Mother Sita for a favourable ruling. “Prayers offered to the land of Mother Sita never go unanswered,” he said, noting the court’s decision in favour of Ram Lalla.

PM Modi further highlighted the state government’s Women’s Employment Scheme, drawing a comparison with past governance. “When the Congress leader’s father was Prime Minister, one rupee would become 15 paise by the time it reached the village. Today, if one rupee leaves Patna, the full 100 paise reaches your account,” he said.

Following his Sitamarhi rally, PM Modi travelled to Bettiah in East Champaran, where he is scheduled to address another public meeting at Kudia Kothi in Chanpatia block. The event is expected to see NDA candidates from multiple constituencies across West and East Champaran present on stage as the campaign intensifies ahead of the next phases of voting.
