Patna: As Bihar enters the final stretch before the first phase of Assembly elections, the state is witnessing a flurry of high-profile rallies from political heavyweights across the country. On Thursday, October 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar are among the leaders crisscrossing the state in a show of strength.
Modi to address rally in Saran
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public rally at the airport grounds in Saran district headquarters, where over 20,000 chairs have been arranged for attendees. The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at 12:35 p.m. by a special Air Force aircraft and address the public at 12:45 p.m., before departing at 1:30 p.m.
Elaborate multi-tier security arrangements have been put in place by the district, state, and central agencies for the event. The rally is expected to set the tone for the NDA’s campaign ahead of the first round of polling.
Amit Shah’s five rallies and press conference
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will begin his day with a press conference at Hotel Maurya in Patna, marking National Unity Day in honour of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th birth anniversary.
Following the event, Shah will address five public meetings across Bihar — in Lakhisarai, Tarapur (Munger), Hilsa (Nalanda), and Paliganj (Patna). His series of rallies is aimed at consolidating NDA’s base in central and southern Bihar, where local contests remain tight.
Nitish Kumar to campaign in Sheikhpura
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will address an election rally in Sheikhpura’s Ghatkosumbha block headquarters at 3 p.m. The rally, organised in support of JD (U) candidate Randhir Kumar Soni, is expected to draw a large crowd.
Rahul Gandhi’s Bihar push
On the Congress side, Rahul Gandhi will hold a rally in Sheikhpura, following an address in Nalanda. He is scheduled to speak at Sardar Patel Cricket Stadium in Chandasi, where he will campaign for Trishuldhari Singh (Congress) in Barbigha and Vijay Samrat (RJD) in Sheikhpura.
Tejashwi Yadav’s day packed with rallies
RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will hold a string of rallies in Madhepura, Darbhanga, and Muzaffarpur, appealing to voters to support the Grand Alliance. His first rallies will be in Bihariganj and Alamnagar, before moving to Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur later in the day.
Priyanka Gandhi and Kharge to join later
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge will enter the campaign trail in the coming days. Priyanka is set to address rallies in Lakhisarai and Rosera on November 3, Govindganj and Chanpatia on November 6, and Kadwa and Kasba on November 8, while Kharge is expected to headline a major rally next week.
Nadda to campaign for JD(U)
BJP National President JP Nadda will campaign in Nagarnausa, where he will address a public meeting in support of the JD(U) candidate backed by the NDA.
With barely a week left before the polls, Bihar’s political landscape has transformed into a battlefield of promises and power plays. The coming days will test how effectively each alliance can mobilise its supporters — as the countdown to polling day begins.
