Vaishali: In Bihar’s Mahnar Assembly constituency, Tej Pratap Yadav faced significant opposition from supporters of his party’s rival, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), during a campaign rally on Wednesday.
Tej Pratap arrived at the Hiranand High School campus around 5pm to address voters in support of Janshakti Janata Dal candidate Jai Singh Rathore. RJD supporters reportedly raised slogans in support of party leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav and shouted “Lantern Chhap Zindabad” (Long live the lantern). The protest escalated as some supporters chased Tej Pratap’s convoy as he left the venue.
The rally, which was initially disrupted by a delayed helicopter arrival, proceeded with Tej Pratap addressing the crowd from a road vehicle.
Jai Singh Rathore, the Janshakti Janata Dal candidate, condemned the incident, claiming that his vehicle was attacked with stones by “four or five” local RJD workers and described the incident as a deliberate conspiracy. He alleged that such aggression forms part of an effort to intimidate opposition candidates and called for increased security from local authorities.
