Patna: Counting of votes polled on 6 November across Patna’s 14 assembly constituencies begins at 8am on Friday at AN College, where the fate of 149 candidates will be decided. Postal ballots will be counted first, including votes cast by 539 elderly and disabled electors, polling personnel and those who voted through the ETPBS system.
EVM counting will start at 8.30am. A total of 2,850,752 voters cast their ballots at 5,677 booths in the district, which has 4,830,135 eligible electors. Candidate-wise updates will be released every two hours, with results displayed on screens inside AN College and announced via loudspeakers outside the campus.
Tight monitoring arrangements have been put in place. Two CCTV cameras will oversee each counting hall, while 48 tables have been designated for counting postal ballots. Each constituency will have 14 counting tables, and 2,086 candidate agents are authorised to be present. One agent per candidate will be allowed at every table. Control units will be aligned according to booth numbers, with units from booths 1 to 14 placed on tables 1 to 14 during each round.
