Patna: With the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 gaining momentum, speculation is mounting that another Bhojpuri star may step into politics. Actor Khesari Lal Yadav revealed that he is trying to convince his wife, Chanda Devi, to contest the polls—though she remains hesitant due to family responsibilities.
Speaking to the media, Yadav said, “I want her to contest, but convincing her has been a tough task. She is a family-oriented woman, a homemaker, and the mother of two children. She always puts her children first and feels that stepping into politics would take her away from them.”
‘Two Days Left To Decide’
The actor added that he has been trying to persuade his wife for several days. “I’ve been convincing her for the past four days. There are still two days left—if she agrees, I’ll help her file the nomination. If not, I’ll focus on campaigning and help Bhaiya (Tejashwi Prasad Yadav) win,” he said.
Yadav also revealed that RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav has encouraged him to get involved in active politics. “Tejashwi Bhaiya and even Akhilesh Bhaiya have always treated me like family. They have supported me, and I’ll continue to stand by them,” he said.
Chanda Devi: A Simple Life Away From Spotlight
Chanda Devi, who married Khesari Lal Yadav in 2006, has largely stayed away from the limelight despite her husband’s stardom. The couple has a son and a daughter. Known for her simplicity, Chanda was a strong emotional pillar for Yadav during his struggling years in the film industry.
RJD Link And Seat Speculation
Political buzz suggests that if Chanda Devi contests, it will likely be on an RJD ticket, with Chhapra and Manjhi constituencies being discussed as potential seats. The speculation grew stronger after Yadav’s recent visit to Rabri Devi’s residence in Patna, where he reportedly met senior RJD leaders.
