Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged BJP workers in Bihar to remind people — especially the youth — of the state’s “Jungle Raj” era, when crime and fear crippled governance. Speaking virtually under the “My Booth, Strongest” campaign, the Prime Minister interacted with workers from all 243 assembly constituencies, ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections 2025.
He asked a worker, Om Prakash, whether the exhibition on “Jungle Raj” had reached his district. “Yes, it is there,” came the reply. Modi then said, “People between 18 and 45 years of age must be told about the days when Bihar was in chaos. Ask elders to tell them stories. They should know the truth.”
The Prime Minister described the period as one when “Naxalites blew up railway tracks, thefts were rampant, people feared stepping out at night, and even government officials needed police escorts.” He said that development had come to a complete halt and added, “Bihar’s situation has been transformed through years of hard work. We cannot afford to let it slide back.”
PM’s Message To Party Workers
Modi urged BJP workers to spread awareness of government schemes and meet as many beneficiaries as possible. “Record their stories, show these videos to others, and if possible, share them on their phones so the entire family can watch,” he said.
Addressing women workers, the Prime Minister asked them to turn Bhaiya Dooj into a festival of outreach, bringing together brothers at every booth to inform them about welfare schemes.
He also interacted with Dr Kamlesh, a divisional in-charge from East Champaran, who told him about the progress Bihar had seen — from lack of roads and electricity to improved connectivity today. Modi asked if people were satisfied with the government’s work, to which the worker replied, “People are happy and consider themselves part of the leadership.”
Megha Devi, a booth president from Purnia, said, “We meet every worker regularly and go door to door. Schemes like the Rs 10,000 assistance under Lalu’s programme are reaching people effectively.”
Bihar Election 2025: Two-Phase Polls
The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases, on November 6 and 11, with results declared on November 14. The first phase covers 121 constituencies, while the second covers 122.
A total of 7.42 crore voters, including 1.4 million first-time voters, are expected to participate. Over 90,000 polling stations have been set up, with webcasting at all booths. Around 1,350 model polling stations have been prepared for a smoother voting experience.
Mobile phones will not be allowed inside polling booths, and voters aged 100 years or above or unable to visit polling stations can vote from home using Form 12D.
