Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has launched its ‘Tejashwi Sandesh Rath’ ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, with Lalu Yadav flagging off the campaign vehicle from his residence in Patna.
The campaign chariot will travel door to door across villages and panchayats, highlighting the policies and promises of the party under Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s leadership. Addressing supporters, Lalu Yadav said the initiative would showcase the work of the Mahagathbandhan government over the last 17 months, assuring people that rights and entitlements would be protected if RJD returns to power.
The Sandesh Rath will promote pledges including 200 units of free electricity and an increase in pensions from Rs 400 to Rs 1,500. RJD leaders said the yatra aims to remind voters that several of Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s earlier announcements had been hastily implemented by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and to emphasise that only RJD would deliver them in full.
The launch comes soon after Nitish Kumar unveiled his own ‘Nishchay Rath’, setting the stage for a direct campaign battle between the two rivals ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections.
