Patna: The Bihar Energy Department has warned empanelled vendors of strict action for failing to meet targets or delaying rooftop solar installations under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli (ULA) Scheme.
The warning was issued during a review meeting held on Friday under the chairmanship of Ajay Yadav (IAS), Secretary, Energy Department-cum-Chairman and Managing Director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited (BSPHCL).
Review Of Rooftop Solar Installation Progress
The meeting assessed the progress of rooftop solar installations under the scheme, including execution quality, implementation speed, compliance with timelines and challenges faced by agencies.
Officials reviewed the status of work across various districts and issued directions to ensure timely completion of pending installations.
Yadav directed officials and ULA vendors to ensure that all rooftop solar systems are installed according to prescribed quality standards and completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Vendors Warned Against Negligence
The Energy Secretary instructed all agencies involved in the scheme to coordinate closely and accelerate implementation to ensure that more consumers receive the benefits of rooftop solar power.
He said vendors that fail to achieve assigned targets or cause unnecessary delays would face action according to applicable rules.
The performance of agencies will be monitored regularly, and negligence at any stage of implementation will not be accepted, officials said.
Officials Attend Review Meeting
The meeting was attended by Rahul Kumar (IAS), Managing Director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL), and Saurav Jorwal (IAS), Managing Director of South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL).
Senior officials from the Energy Department, power utilities and representatives of vendors associated with the ULA scheme also participated in the meeting.
