Patna: The Bihar government has extended the exemption period for stamp duty and registration fees for industrial investors, a decision aimed at promoting industrial growth and attracting new investments.
Under the Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy, 2016, industrial units in the high-priority category will continue to enjoy exemptions on stamp duty and registration fees for lease, sale, and transfer of land allotted by the Industrial Development Authority (IDA) or Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA). The exemption will remain in effect until the new Industrial Investment Promotion Policy is notified.
Officials said the extension will directly benefit entrepreneurs and investors, lowering the cost of setting up industries and making investment in Bihar more attractive.
