Patna: The Bihar government has begun the process of disbursing a 50,000 incentive to around 1.5 lakh female graduates under the Mukhyamantri Kanya Utthan Yojana. The Higher Education Department has completed verification of beneficiary data from 17 universities, with preparations underway to transfer the money directly into eligible beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
The Finance Department has approved the funds for the payment, while the Directorate of Higher Education has set September 10 as the target date for completing the transfer to all eligible beneficiaries.
Data of Female Graduates Verified
The Higher Education Department has verified the data of female graduates available up to December 2025. During the verification process, the details of 2,234 students were found to be incomplete.
The concerned universities have been directed to correct the incomplete information within a week so that eligible students are not left out of the payment process.
50,000 Incentive Under Graduate Scheme
According to Prof. N.K. Agrawal, Director of Higher Education, the Mukhyamantri Balika (Snatak) Protsahan Yojana provides an incentive of ₹50,000 to eligible female graduates.
The scheme is aimed at encouraging girls to pursue higher education and complete graduation. The latest payment process will cover beneficiaries whose details have been verified by the department.
Beneficiaries From 17 Universities
The beneficiary data available on the Higher Education Department’s portal has been received from 17 universities across Bihar.
These include Patliputra University, Patna University, B.N. Mandal University, B.R.A. Bihar University, Jai Prakash University, Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Munger University, Purnia University, Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University, Veer Kunwar Singh University, Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, Magadh University, Maulana Mazharul Haque Arabic and Persian University, Nalanda Open University, Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Chanakya National Law University and Chandragupt Institute of Management.
Payments Expected by September 10
The department is now working to complete the remaining verification and correction process before transferring the incentive amount. Eligible female graduates whose records have been successfully verified are expected to receive the 50,000 incentive in their bank accounts by September 10.
The move is expected to benefit a large number of women graduates across Bihar and provide financial support as they pursue further education or enter the workforce.
