PATNA : Bihar is rapidly establishing itself as a central player in the national energy discourse. In a significant recognition of its progress, the state has been designated as the ‘Focus State’ at the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, Organized by the Ministry of Power, Government of India.
The global conference-cum-exhibition, scheduled from March 19th to 22nd at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, will serve as a platform for Bihar to showcase its extensive reforms in the power sector, economical investments, opportunities, and the milestones achieved under its ‘Powering Bihar’ initiative.
Summit Highlights & Bihar’s Participation
The four-day summit aims to foster meaningful dialogue on energy challenges and opportunities while highlighting India’s leadership in the global energy transition. Bihar will demonstrate its commitment to sustainable growth at Stand No. 2E51, Hall No. 2.
Day 1: The event kicks off with an inaugural session, followed by a Chief Guests walkthrough of the Bihar stall and media interactions. Top policymakers and Industry leaders will engage in international ministerial and CEO-level meetings.
Day 2: The focus shifts to a Ministerial Round Table. Key sessions include a CEO meeting featuring the Managing Director of Bihar State Power Transmission Company Limited (BSPTCL). Additionally, a specialized session with the Energy Secretary of Bihar and Abhijeet Ray, Partner at PwC, will explore the state’s investment landscape in depth.
Day 3: Dedicated to direct engagement with potential investors. The Energy Secretary will also conduct media briefings and interviews to outline Bihar’s energy policy and future roadmap.
Day 4 : The summit will conclude with a formal closing ceremony summarizing the key takeaways and future collaborations.

Bihar’s active participation as a Focus State is viewed as a pivotal move to attract global investment and highlight the rapid transformation of its power infrastructure.
