New Delhi/Patna: Girls secured the top four positions in the latest round of the Bihar Foundation National Inter-College Crossword Expedition (Bihar Foundation NICE 2026), organisers announced, highlighting a strong performance by women participants in the national-level competition.
The championship, jointly organised by Extra-C and the Crossword Federation of India (CWFI) with the support of the Central Bank of India, saw Adya Singh of St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi, emerge as the round topper. According to the organisers, the competition aims to encourage analytical thinking, language skills and problem-solving among college students across India.
Adya Singh Tops the Latest Round
Adya Singh secured the first position in the latest round with what organisers described as an exceptional performance.
The other top-ranked participants were:
1. Adya Singh – St. Stephen’s College, New Delhi
2. V. Krishna Sai Gayatri – BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus
3. Dhara Mittal – Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar
4. Vijval Ekbote – Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIIT-Delhi)
5. Bhargav Vinayak – CCL
According to the organisers, the top four positions were all secured by female participants, reflecting their strong performance in this round of the championship.
Growing Interest in Crossword-Based Learning
Organisers said the latest round highlighted the increasing popularity of crossword solving as an educational activity among college students. They stated that such competitions help participants develop analytical thinking, logical reasoning, language proficiency, creativity and problem-solving skills.
The organisers also noted that students from colleges and universities across the country participated in the competition, underscoring its growing national reach.
Organisers Highlight Women’s Performance
Congratulating the winners, the organisers said the dominance of women among the leading performers reflected increasing participation by young women in intellectual competitions. They added that participants from institutions across India delivered strong performances during the latest round.
The organisers described the championship as part of a broader effort to promote knowledge-based learning through competitive crossword solving.
Next Round Scheduled for July 26
According to the organisers, the next stage of Bihar Foundation NICE 2026, known as the N-Round, will be held on July 26, 2026.
They also thanked the Bihar Foundation for lending its name to the championship and acknowledged the support of the Central Bank of India. According to the organisers, the bank’s continued association has helped strengthen efforts to promote innovation, knowledge and intellectual excellence among young people through crossword-based learning initiatives.
