Patna: The Bihar government has announced free travel for students appearing in the NEET examination on buses operated by the Bihar State Road Transport Corporation amid continuing uncertainty over a possible re-examination linked to the NEET paper leak case.
Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said on Saturday that all NEET candidates would be able to travel free of cost on government buses across the state.
The announcement comes as investigations into the alleged paper leak continue and discussions over a potential re-examination remain ongoing.
Appeal to Religious Institutions and NGOs
In a post on X, the Chief Minister also appealed to district administrations, monasteries, temples and non-governmental organisations to support students and their guardians during the examination period.
He urged them to arrange drinking water, sattu and other essential facilities at bus stands, railway stations and other public locations where candidates are expected to gather.
Chaudhary also extended his wishes to students appearing for the examination.
Political Row Over NEET Continues
The NEET controversy has continued to trigger political reactions across the country, with opposition parties questioning the credibility of the examination process.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticised the Central Government over the issue and raised concerns about the integrity of the system.
Meanwhile, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary said on Friday that the investigation into the matter was still underway.
He stated that the Central Government was preparing for a possible re-examination and dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s remarks, saying such statements should not be taken seriously.
