Gayaji: A heinous crime has been reported from Gayaji, the religious city of Bihar, under the limits of Amas Police Station.

In an incident that has brought shame to relationships, a minor girl was gang-raped by four men late on Sunday night. The victim’s cousin was also involved in the crime. All four accused have been arrested, and the entire village has expressed anger, demanding strict action against those responsible.

When the matter came to the attention of the police on Monday morning, the area was in an uproar. According to police, during a feast held in the village on Sunday night, the minor girl went to meet her alleged boyfriend in a barren area outside the village. The young man is a resident of a village under the Gurua police station area and had come there to work as a tent operator.

Meanwhile, the victim’s cousin arrived there along with three other friends. The victim told police that the accused caught her with the young man in Baghar. The four first beat up the young man, who fled the scene in fear. They then threatened the girl, saying they would reveal everything in the village. The girl began pleading, but the accused took advantage of the situation and committed the crime.

On the other hand, the victim’s family has claimed that the girl had gone out of the house to relieve herself when the accused, who were lying in wait, caught her. They allegedly gagged her and took her to Baghar in the dark, where the incident took place.

The family has demanded strict punishment for all the accused. Police are gathering further details by questioning the victim. Officials said a medical examination is being conducted and the victim’s statement will be recorded in court.

Police are also searching for the young man mentioned in the case to verify the sequence of events.
