Gayaji: Four police personnel were injured in a road accident on Saturday evening in Gayaji district when a police vehicle scouting a VIP lost control and collided with an oncoming car.
The incident occurred near Vipard in the Magadh Medical police station area. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle from Malaypur police station was moving at high speed when the driver lost control, resulting in a head-on collision.
Three women constables — Chanda Kumari, Varsha Kumari and Soni — along with a male constable, Mantu Kumar, sustained injuries. Chanda and Varsha are reported to be in critical condition. All four were rescued by security personnel present at the spot and rushed to Magadh Medical Hospital for treatment.
The impact of the crash left both vehicles completely damaged. Police officials confirmed that the injured are out of danger and undergoing treatment. The accident vehicle has been seized.
All the injured policemen are residents of Nalanda district. Authorities have not disclosed which VIP the team was scouting, and no formal complaint has been lodged regarding the incident so far.
