Patna: Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Prasad Yadav on Sunday accused the state government of implementing welfare schemes originally proposed by his party, such as free electricity and increased pension support, while misleading the public by presenting them as its own. He pledged that if his party came to power, every household would receive “real benefits, not just illusions of promises”.
The opposition leader also directed criticism at the Election Commission, alleging that irregularities had emerged in voter lists, including cases where deceased individuals were recorded as alive and living citizens were listed as dead. “This is a big mess, and the people of Bihar know the truth. They will definitely answer in the upcoming elections,” he said.
Tejashwi Prasad Yadav extended his attack to the central government, questioning why industries were concentrated in Gujarat while Bihar continued to be offered only electoral assurances. He accused leaders within the NDA, including Chirag Paswan and Jitan Ram Manjhi, of pursuing power without addressing the real concerns of the state’s citizens.
He added that the current administration had failed to act on critical issues such as unemployment, education, and inflation, promising that his government would bring “real change and a new direction of development” in Bihar.
