Patna: The Department of Tourism Bihar has launched a new website aimed at simplifying hotel bookings for domestic and international visitors travelling across the state.
The platform, developed for properties operated by the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC), was launched on Wednesday by tourism minister Arun Shankar Prasad at the state secretariat in Patna.
Officials said the website integrates an online booking system with a management information system, allowing travellers to reserve rooms and access details for 38 hotels managed by the corporation, including both directly operated properties and those run under licence. The initiative is expected to streamline accommodation planning at key tourist destinations across Bihar.
Speaking at the launch, Prasad said the system had been designed to provide a “hassle-free experience” for visitors and improve the management of tourism infrastructure. He added that the platform had been developed in collaboration with ICICI Bank without any service charges.
Senior officials, including tourism secretary Nilesh Ramchandra Devare and BSTDC managing director Nand Kishore, attended the launch alongside other department representatives.
The new portal is also linked to the corporation’s official website, enabling users to browse and select accommodation options through a single interface, in a move the government hopes will boost tourism and improve accessibility for visitors to the state.
