Patna: The General Administration Department of Bihar has directed all state departments to submit details of transfer and posting orders carried out in June by July 1. Additional Chief Secretary B Rajender issued a letter to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Secretaries on Friday (June 27), highlighting the need for transparency in administrative movements during the election year.
In the letter, Rajender cited instructions from the Chief Secretary issued on June 26. Under the Bihar Executive Rules, June is the month when large-scale transfers and postings are implemented across departments. The government has asked departments to treat this matter as top priority and submit copies of all transfer orders without delay.
Transfers and postings are a routine part of state administration, but in an election year, the government is moving cautiously to prevent any misuse or manipulation of postings. Critics have previously raised concerns about possible political influence in the transfer-posting process, especially close to elections.
