Patna: The Bihar government has decided to launch a new initiative aimed at improving the condition of government schools by involving successful former students in their development.
According to the education department, alumni who studied in government schools and later achieved success in fields such as medicine, engineering, administration and business will be encouraged to contribute to their former institutions.
Alumni support for school development
Under the proposed plan, former students may help schools develop facilities such as libraries, smart classrooms, computers, sports equipment, drinking water systems and toilets.
Officials believe that alumni participation could help strengthen both educational standards and basic infrastructure in government schools.
The initiative is also expected to create a stronger connection between students and role models who share similar educational backgrounds.
Mentorship and student guidance
The government said successful alumni may also visit schools periodically to interact with students and provide guidance on education and careers.
