Patna: All Gram Panchayats in Bihar will host special Gram Sabhas on August 15 to mark Independence Day, focusing on key development priorities.
The Panchayati Raj Department has directed district officials to ensure discussions on three major issues: promotion of renewable energy schemes, management of stray animals, and performance under the Panchayat Advancement Index 1.0.
Under the renewable energy agenda, villagers will be informed about the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, PM-Kusum, and other solar initiatives run by the state government. For stray animal management, the agenda includes creating grazing and shelter spaces to protect crops, as well as planning cattle tagging and vaccination drives in coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department.
The Panchayat Advancement Index review aims to identify ways to improve local governance and ensure timely achievement of sustainable development goals. Authorities have urged villagers to attend the Gram Sabha and actively participate in shaping their rural future.
