Bihar Health Department Cancels 4500 Post Vacancies Amid Protest; No Seats Allocated for General Category

Patna: The Bihar State Health Society has announced the cancellation of recruitment for 4500 Community Health Officer positions within the Health Department. The decision comes in response to mounting criticism, particularly regarding the absence of posts allocated for the general category, sparking protests and social media outrage.

The recruitment process had commenced recently, with applications open to both male and female candidates starting April 1, with a deadline set for April 30. However, discontent among aspirants grew due to the absence of any posts designated for the general category.

Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Samrat Chaudhary had previously touted the recruitment drive as a testament to the NDA government’s commitment to employment and job security. The advertised positions included 3566 for male candidates and 934 for female candidates.

In response to the backlash, Deputy CM Chaudhary expressed ignorance about the situation initially but pledged to address the concerns promptly, assuring that rightful candidates would not be left disappointed.
