Patna: The Bihar government has reshuffled the responsibilities of 17 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, with new appointments to several senior departments and district administrations, according to a notification issued on Monday night.
Pankaj Kumar, principal secretary of the Rural Development Department, has been appointed principal secretary of the Home Department.
Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, additional chief secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat, has been given additional charge as Controller of Examinations of the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) and director general of BIPARD.
New Patna Divisional Commissioner
Rajesh Kumar, secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department, has been appointed divisional commissioner of Patna.
His predecessor, Mayank Warwade, has been appointed principal secretary of the Vigilance Department.
H.R. Srinivasa, additional chief secretary of the Social Welfare Department, will take charge as additional chief secretary of the Rural Development Department.
Vinay Kumar, principal secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, has been appointed principal secretary of the Finance Department. He will retain additional charge of the Urban Development and Housing Department.
Sanjay Kumar, secretary of the Finance Department, has been appointed secretary of the Prohibition, Excise and Registration Department, while continuing as secretary to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
Following the appointment, Naveen Kumar will be relieved of his additional charge as secretary of the Prohibition Department.
Changes In Key Departments
Vinod Singh Gunjiyal, secretary of the Election Department and former full-charge secretary of the Education Department, has been appointed secretary of the Social Welfare Department.
B Kartikey Dhanji, secretary of the Minor Water Resources Department, has been appointed secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department.
Rajiv Roshan, secretary of the Higher Education Department, has been appointed secretary (Resources) in the Finance Department.
Chandrashekhar Singh, secretary of the Water Resources Department, has been given additional charge of the Minor Water Resources Department.
Navdeep Shukla, special secretary of the Youth, Employment and Skill Department, has been appointed additional executive officer of the Bihar Skill Development Mission.
Five Districts Get New DMs
The reshuffle also includes new district magistrates in Bhojpur, Begusarai, Sitamarhi, Siwan and Kaimur.
Manesh Kumar Meena, director of Mines, has been appointed DM of Bhojpur.
Richie Pandey, currently DM of Sitamarhi, has been transferred as DM of Begusarai.
Vijay Prakash Meena, additional secretary in the Urban Development and Housing Department, has been appointed DM of Siwan.
Tanay Sultania, DM of Bhojpur, has been transferred as DM of Sitamarhi.
Kumar Anurag, director of the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation, has been appointed DM of Kaimur.
