Patna: On August 30, the Bihar government announced the transfer of five senior officers across key departments. Dr S Siddharth, who was serving as principal secretary to the chief minister and additional chief secretary of the Education Department, has been appointed the new Development Commissioner of the state. Siddharth, from the 1991 batch of the service, will serve in this role until November 30.
Meanwhile, Dr B Rajender, 1995 batch officer, has been given additional responsibility as additional chief secretary of the Education Department. Rajender already holds multiple responsibilities, including additional chief secretary of the General Administration Department, public grievances, sports department, mission director of the Bihar Administrative Reforms Mission Society, and director general of Bipad.
These changes will take effect from September 1 following a notification from the General Administration Department. Among the five officers affected, two have been transferred to new roles, while three have received additional charges.
