Patna: The Government of Bihar on Friday transferred 10 IAS officers in a major bureaucratic reshuffle involving several key departments, including Home, Cabinet Secretariat, Revenue and Industries.
Under the new appointments, Kundan Kumar has been appointed Secretary of the Home Department, while senior IAS officer Deepak Kumar Singh has been named Principal Secretary to the Governor.
Deepak Kumar Singh, a 1992-batch IAS officer, currently serves as Director General-cum-Chief Inquiry Commissioner and will continue to hold additional charge of that post.
Arvind Kumar Chaudhary Gets Cabinet Secretariat Charge
Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, a 1995-batch IAS officer, has been appointed Additional Chief Secretary of the Cabinet Secretariat Department.
He will also continue to hold additional responsibilities as:
- Controller of Examinations of the Bihar State Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board
- Chairman of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission
Additional Responsibilities Assigned To Officers
The reshuffle also involved redistribution of additional charges among several senior officers.
Key changes include:
- B Rajender receiving additional charge of the Monitoring Department alongside responsibilities in the General Administration Department
- Kundan Kumar continuing as Secretary of the Industries Department while additionally handling the Home Department
- Sanjay Kumar Singh being relieved of additional charge as Inquiry Commissioner in the General Administration Department
- Seema Tripathi receiving additional charge as Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department
- Nilesh Ramchandra Deore being assigned additional responsibility as Managing Director of the Bihar State Housing Board
- Inayat Khan being given additional charge as Special Secretary in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department
- Arvind Kumar Verma being assigned additional charge as Special Secretary in the Industries Department
Meanwhile, Rajiv Kumar Srivastava has been relieved from his role as Managing Director of the Bihar State Housing Board and appointed Additional Secretary in the Finance Department.
Gopal Meena Sent on Central Deputation
Separately, the Bihar government has relieved Gopal Meena, a 2007-batch IAS officer serving as Secretary in the Governor’s Secretariat, for central deputation.
He has been appointed Development Commissioner of the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Noida under the Department of Commerce, Government of India at the Joint Secretary level.
Officials said the deputation followed an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on May 8.
