Patna: Bihar has taken another step towards accelerating industrial growth, with the state’s Project Clearance Committee (PCC) approving land allocation for 20 industrial units.
The meeting, chaired by the industry secretary and director of Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), Kundan Kumar, cleared proposals that are expected to bring investments of more than Rs 125 crore into the state and create around 1,187 jobs.
In total, 9.637 acres of land were allocated during the PCC meeting. Instead of traditional plots, the land has been provided through plug-and-play industrial sheds, a model designed to allow units to begin operations quickly without the delays and costs associated with building basic infrastructure.
Officials said the approach would significantly reduce project gestation periods, enabling faster commencement of production and earlier job creation. “Plug-and-play facilities save both time and capital for investors, while also improving utilisation of industrial areas,” a senior official said.
The approved units span a range of sectors, including IT and IT-enabled services, food processing, pharmaceuticals and general manufacturing. According to government estimates, the approved proposals together account for investments of Rs 125.39 crore, strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem and supporting its employment goals.
