Patna: The Bihar government on Sunday carried out a major reshuffle in the police administration, transferring 16 senior IPS officers across several important departments and units.
The Home Department issued a formal notification detailing the changes.
Sudhanshu Kumar Given Law And Order Charge
Sudhanshu Kumar, who was serving as Additional Director General (ADG) of the State Crime Records Bureau and Modernisation, has now been appointed ADG (Law and Order).
Meanwhile, Nayyer Hasnain Khan has been relieved from the Economic Offences Unit and posted to the Bihar Special Armed Police.
Vikas Vaibhav has been appointed Inspector General (IG) of the Magadh Zone in Gaya after being relieved from his role as adviser to the Bihar State Planning Board.
Promotions And Key Departmental Changes
According to the notification, Paresh Saxena, a 1994-batch officer serving as ADG of Civil Defence, has been promoted to the rank of Director General within the same department.
Nirmal Kumar Azad, previously ADG of Technical Services and Communication, has been posted as Director General (Training).
Amit Kumar Jain, who headed the Prohibition and State Narcotics Control Bureau, will now serve as ADG of the Economic Offences Unit.
Kamal Kishore Singh has been appointed ADG (Railways), while Ajitabh Kumar has been given charge of the State Crime Records Bureau and Modernisation.
Amit Lodha Shifted To Technical Services
Sanjay Singh, who served as ADG (Training), will now oversee Budget, Appeals and Welfare.
Prominent IPS officer Amit Lodha has been transferred from the State Crime Records Bureau and appointed ADG of Technical Services and Communication.
Amrit Raj has been assigned charge of the Cyber Crime and Security Unit.
K S Anupam, Special Secretary in the Home Department’s Special Branch, has been appointed ADG (Weaker Sections) in the Criminal Investigation Department.

Railway, CID And Special Branch Reshuffle
P Kannan, previously IG (Railways), has been appointed IG (Provisioning).
Ranjit Kumar Mishra, IG of the Cyber Crime and Security Unit, has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Kumar, who served in the Bihar Special Armed Police, has been appointed Inspector General of the Special Branch.
