Patna: In a bid to bolster domestic travel and position Bihar as a prominent tourism destination, the state chapter of the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) was officially launched on Saturday at Hotel Pataliputra Continental in Patna.
The ceremony was inaugurated by Nandkishore, Managing Director of the Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation, who expressed optimism that the new chapter would significantly enhance tourism activity in the state. “Modern infrastructure is being developed across Bihar, and we are witnessing a steady rise in both domestic and international tourist arrivals,” he said in his address. “From the Ramayana Circuit to eco-tourism developments in Kaimur and Rohtas, the state is making rapid progress.”
He also highlighted ongoing efforts to brand Chhath Puja on a global scale and mentioned plans for a dedicated tourist helpline to streamline information access for visitors. “A well-planned 4 to 5-day itinerary can be easily curated within Bihar,” he added. “It’s now up to you, as industry stakeholders, to bring more travellers here and help boost local employment.”
ADTOI’s national president Ved Khanna was present at the event, along with key members of the tourism fraternity. Newly appointed office bearers for the Bihar chapter include:

- Secretary: Rajesh Kumar
- Treasurer: Sachin Sharma
- Women Executive Officer: Anupama Singh
- Advisor: Ashok Kumar Singh, Former Director, Bihar Tourism
- State Coordinator: R. Priyanka
The event brought together representatives from Gujarat Tourism, members of the Tourism Association of Bihar (TAB), media personnel and other stakeholders for a collaborative discussion on advancing domestic tourism in the region.
