Patna: The final day of the Bihar Legislature’s Monsoon session witnessed heated exchanges between the ruling coalition and opposition members, with disputes arising in both the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council.
A verbal confrontation between Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav and RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh in the Legislative Council drew attention during the proceedings, while the Assembly witnessed a dispute over allegations of firing during a student protest in Jehanabad.
Exchange Between Deputy CM Bijendra Yadav And RJD MLC Sunil Singh
The confrontation in the Legislative Council began when Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav was presenting the government’s position.
During the discussion, RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh made a remark related to Yadav’s eyesight, following which the Deputy Chief Minister objected and responded sharply.
The exchange soon turned into a war of words, with members from both sides trading allegations. The atmosphere inside the House became tense as the verbal confrontation continued.
RJD Protests After Deputy CM’s Remarks
Responding to the comments, Bijendra Prasad Yadav criticised the RJD and levelled allegations related to corruption against the opposition party.
RJD members protested against the statement, leading to further arguments inside the Council.
A separate verbal exchange also took place between JD(U) MLC Sanjay Singh and RJD MLC Sunil Kumar Singh as members from both sides continued their protests.

Meanwhile, proceedings in the Legislative Assembly were disrupted over the issue of alleged firing during a student protest in Jehanabad.
RJD MLA Alok Mehta raised the matter and alleged that shots were fired at protesting students. BJP MLAs objected to the allegations and opposed the opposition’s claims.
Members of the ruling coalition argued that those involved in attacks on police personnel and public representatives could not be considered students.
They condemned the violence during the protest and demanded that a condemnation motion be brought in the House.

The uproar over the Jehanabad protest issue and the exchange of personal remarks in the Legislative Council dominated proceedings on the concluding day of the Monsoon session.
Members from both sides continued raising allegations against each other, leading to repeated disruptions before the session concluded.
