Patna: Students enrolled in Bihar’s madrasas will receive free skill development training in modern technical fields including Artificial Intelligence (AI), drone technology, coding, robotics and electric vehicles under a state government initiative.
The Minority Welfare Department is implementing the programme across all 3,588 madrasas in the state. Skill development training will be made mandatory in both aided and non-aided institutions.
Training Across 3,588 Madrasas
According to the department, Bihar has 1,942 aided madrasas and 1,646 non-aided madrasas covered under the programme.
Minority Welfare Minister Md. Jama Khan has directed officials to make arrangements for the training in all madrasas.
The programme will be conducted in collaboration with the National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), a Central government undertaking. The department and NSIC are expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) next week.
Focus On Technical Skills
In the initial phase, students will be trained in AI, drone technology, coding, robotics and electric vehicles.
The programme will also cover mobile repairing, computer education, electrical wiring and other technical trades, according to the department.
Focus On Employment
The government aims to link madrasa students with employment opportunities through the skill development programme.
Job fairs will be organised in different districts to help trained students connect with potential employers and explore employment opportunities.
The initiative is intended to expand access to technical and vocational skills among students from the minority community while improving their prospects for employment.
