Patna: Minority students in Bihar who secured first division in their 2026 examinations can now apply for financial assistance under the Chief Minister’s Minority Student Incentive Scheme. The online application process began on July 31, 2026, through the state’s e-Kalyan portal.

Under the scheme, eligible Muslim female students who have passed the Intermediate examination with first division from the Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB), as well as students who secured first division in Maulvi and Fokaania examinations conducted by the Bihar State Madrasa Education Board, will receive a one-time incentive directly in their bank accounts.

Who Can Apply for the Incentive?

The scheme covers eligible minority students who are permanent residents of Bihar and have secured first division in the relevant 2026 examination.

Eligible categories include:

  • Muslim female students who passed the 2026 Intermediate examination from BSEB with first division.
  • Muslim female students who secured first division in the Maulvi examination conducted by the Bihar State Madrasa Education Board.
  • Students who secured first division in the Fokaania examination.

The incentive amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account after verification.

Documents Required for Online Application

Applicants will have to upload clear scanned copies of the required documents while submitting their applications through the e-Kalyan portal.

The mandatory documents include:

  • Bihar permanent residence certificate
  • Marksheet and passing certificate
  • Registration card issued by the concerned board
  • Aadhaar card
  • Bank passbook or cancelled cheque showing the account number and IFSC code
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Signature

Students should ensure that the details uploaded in the application match their official documents to avoid issues during verification.

Where to Get Help With the Application

Students facing technical problems or requiring additional information can contact the District Minority Welfare Office, Katihar.

Applicants can also seek assistance through the helpline number 6287594816.

Katihar to Host Special Loan Recovery Camp

Meanwhile, the Katihar administration will organise a special loan recovery camp from September 14 to 19, 2026, at the District Minority Welfare Office located in the Collectorate.

The camp will focus on recovering outstanding loans provided under various schemes, including the Chief Minister’s Minority Employment Loan Scheme, NMDFC Term Loan and Education Loan Scheme.

The camp is being organised under the direction of Bihar State Minorities Financial Corporation Limited, Patna, with the aim of providing loan defaulters with a single location to deposit their pending instalments.

Defaulters Warned of Penal Interest and Legal Action

The department has advised beneficiaries with outstanding dues to attend the recovery camp during the specified period and clear their pending instalments.

Officials have warned that failure to repay loans on time could result in penal interest being imposed on the outstanding amount. In addition, civil and criminal legal proceedings may be initiated against defaulters in accordance with applicable rules.

The department has urged borrowers to use the recovery camp to settle their dues and avoid further financial or legal consequences.
